Good writers are in huge demand. Companies need to hire writers now more than ever, due to the fact that they have to keep putting out content on the internet to rank well in the search engines. And, the nice thing about becoming a writer is that you can work from home, even if your client is located out of state.

Here's a tip. You can check out http://www.CraigZoom.com , which is a tool that will allow you to search ALL of Craigslist by keyword, rather than searching Craigslist city by city. So you can simply put in a search term like 'writing jobs' to see what is available.

I completely agree with you about residual income. I much prefer writing for residuals than upfront payments.

I wonder if some of the difference is because AddsYou is in alpha testing mode and Bukisa is in beta. You say your earnings on Bukisa have far surpassed that of AddsYou - can you give examples? Is Bukisa only for how-to information? I've also heard there are copyright issues with it.

Since you brought up godaddy.com, I'll also list a couple of recent discoveries for Godaddy.com promo codes. I am an Oracle 10g Programmer, and these discount coupons come in very handy when purchasing or renewing an internet domain name. Use Godaddy promo code ZINE3 for $7.49 .com domains and renewals. I save about $45 every time I purchase a bunch of domains. When I buy at least five domain names, I also get free private registration when I use ZINE3. For other Godaddy coupons, use ZINE1 for 10% off, ZINE2 for $5 off any $30+ purchase, and ZINE25 for $25 off any purchase of $100 or more, like hosting plans. These promo codes are current, working, and do not expire. Hope these Godaddy coupon codes save just as much cash for the other subscribers as they have for my web site projects. Keep up the good work! -Keely from Ardmore, AL.

You are right. I've written for Helium and eHow and unlike those who don't have a concern for the money, if I have time and money to give away, it won't be given to the Internet. I write for a living and expect to be paid as agreed upon. Helium has been a huge disappointment and I do not write for them anymore nor would I publish ads form them on my site. I may be writer poor but I still have my pride.

While I completely see your point, and think they offer very low monetary incentive, I still think they ask you to rate simply because the entire idea of Helium is to make sure the best rises to the top. This happens by writing and I think it works. I am sometimes annoyed though. I really enjoyed your posts and think that you made some fantastic points.

Hi Cindy,

I have just finsihed your reading your article and I feel really bad for you. You sound so passionate about your cause and try as I might to support you I just can't. To be honest with you, I signed up with Helium a couple of years ago too and actually forgot I had an account with them until I saw something posted on Twitter recently. I logged into my account wrote and article or two and rated articles. I have to say, I always thought it was policy to rate articles, at least that is something I have always done. Everytime you post an article on Helium you are automatically taken to the rating section so I always spend around 5 minutes rating. I had no rating stars last week but after posting 2 articles of my own and rating others for approximately 5 to 10 minutes, I now have 2 rating stars and 1 writing star. I really don't have a problem rating the articles. How else is it going to get done? If there are 10 articles for the same title who decides which article is best. It is the writers on Helium that determine the placement of the articles, and it is the writers that submit the articles too.

I personally won't be quiting Helium because for me, it's not about earning money from my articles, it's about getting my name and my writing seen.

Sorry if this post was a little long, just wanted to share my point of view on this very interesting topic.
